Rangers Add Robert Dugger on Minor League Deal

The Rangers have signed right-hander Robert Dugger to a minor league contract, providing depth amid ongoing rotation concerns. Dugger, 29, has limited major league experience, appearing in 86 2/3 innings mostly as a swingman and long reliever. While he has struggled at the big-league level, his minor league performance has been more reliable, posting a 4.49 ERA over 306 2/3 innings from 2022 to 2024.

Dugger began the year with the Guerreros de Oaxaca in the Mexican League, making three starts and recording a 3.97 ERA over 11 1/3 innings. With Kumar Rocker, Jon Gray, and Cody Bradford all on the injured list, and Jack Leiter still adjusting to the majors, Dugger could serve as a potential spot starter or long relief option if the Rangers’ pitching staff becomes stretched during their upcoming schedule.
