Angels Sign Hunter Strickland to Minor League Deal
The Angels have reached an agreement with veteran reliever Hunter Strickland on a minor league contract, bringing him back to the organization after spending last season with the team. Strickland, 36, will report to Triple-A Salt Lake after being granted his release by the Rangers earlier in the day.
Strickland originally signed with Texas on a non-roster deal during spring training, briefly appearing in camp before rejoining the organization on a minor league contract. He made 12 appearances with Triple-A Round Rock, struggling to a 14-run total over 15 1/3 innings. Now back with the Angels, Strickland will look to regain his form and earn another call-up to the majors.
