Angels Call Up Touki Toussaint, Adjust Roster

The Angels have selected right-hander Touki Toussaint’s contract, bringing him back to the majors as part of a series of roster moves. In addition to Toussaint’s promotion, the team recalled Michael Darrell-Hicks, optioned Jake Eder to Triple-A, and placed left-hander Garrett McDaniels on the 15-day injured list with left biceps tendinitis.

Once considered a top prospect, Toussaint has struggled to find consistency in recent years, bouncing between multiple organizations. Despite an early promising start with Atlanta in 2018, he has since posted a 5.55 ERA with a concerning 13.8% walk rate. After a brief stint with the White Sox last season, Toussaint now gets another opportunity with the Angels, looking to prove his value in Anaheim’s pitching staff.
