Blue Jays Sign Spencer Turnbull, Adjust Roster

The Blue Jays have officially signed veteran pitcher Spencer Turnbull to a one-year major league contract and optioned him to the Florida Complex League to build up his arm strength. The move is part of a broader roster shuffle that also includes free agent addition José Ureña.

To accommodate both signings on the 40-man roster, the team transferred Max Scherzer and Erik Swanson to the 60-day injured list, delaying their return until at least late May. These adjustments provide the Blue Jays with additional pitching depth while they navigate early-season injuries.
