Chad Michael Qualls, born on August 17, 1978, in Lomita, California, is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher known for his longevity and effectiveness as a reliever. Qualls played for nine MLB teams during his career, including the Houston Astros, Arizona Diamondbacks, Tampa Bay Rays, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, Miami Marlins, and Colorado Rockies.

A standout moment in Qualls's career came during his time with the Astros, where he was part of a strong bullpen that helped the team reach the 2005 World Series. Known for his ability to induce ground balls, Qualls was a reliable option in high-pressure situations. He also served as a closer for the Diamondbacks, recording 24 saves in 2009.
